Sophie’s 19 days offbeat holiday to Rajasthan route & tour description
When Sophie got in touch with us, she was clear that she wanted a holiday to Rajasthan. But, she was keen on visiting some of the more offbeat locations along with the popular ones. This is why, we recommended that she start her trip from Mandawa. The little town Mandawa is where she got to witness numerous fascinating Havelis. From Mandawa, she went down to the desert city of Bikaner. A city where she came across the Junagarh Fort and Bhandasar Jain Temple, amongst other wonderful sites.
Sophie’s holiday to Rajasthan then took her to Jaisalmer. Her visit to the Golden City was a royal experience that we felt she must not miss out on. The city offered her a chance to witness beautiful lakes and sand dunes. She was particularly thrilled about checking out the remains of a deserted village. Sophie even spent a few days at Jodhpur and Pushkar. The holy city of Pushkar enlightened her just as much as Jodhpur enchanted her with its historic forts. She even managed to try zip lining at Mehrangarh fort.
After her stay in Pushkar she drove down to Bundi. A city famous for its stepwells, majestic architectural sites and captivating artistic murals across the city. A holiday to Rajasthan would be incomplete without visiting the Pink City of Jaipur. The city has much to offer, be it in terms of authentic cuisine or cultural sites. Sophie sure did make the most of her time there. She ended her trip by making her way to Agra for a couple of days, before flying back to Delhi.
Transport and Stay
Throughout the trip Sophie drove down from one city to the other, in a private car we helped her hire. She stayed in a mix of homestays, hostels and some fascinating Havelis too. Overall, Sophie’s trip was one that gave her an authentic taste of Rajashthan’s culture, while including a few lesser visited places.
